Pain Relief

Are you or a loved one in need of an easy-to-use natural pain relief which you can access from your small kit wherever you are?

A Tourmaline Stone acupuncture system may just be the key to erase back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain – any kind of pain.

Healing Yourself with Non-invasive Acupuncture Disks

The disks are effective as a natural pain relief for most stress related illnesses. And since the disks last for years they can also provide a cheap, easy-to-use immune boosting and rejuvenating method. The method has been thoroughly tested and is being used in many hospitals in China. The disks have been proven to work not only as an effective relief for pain but also for disease conditions such as common cold, insomnia, depression and many others.

Here in the West, more and more Chinese Medicine practitioners are taking advantage of this needle-less acupuncture, particularly for patients who fear needles.

How do the Tourmaline Disks Work?

Placed on the chosen body points, the 1.3″ wide disks interact with body’s energy channels creating a resonance that gently dissolves existing energy and neural blocks. Open pathways enable the intelligence of the Source Energy that is present in all creation, to act on and harmonize the brain, nerves, blood, muscles and organs.

Those undergoing a 20 to 40 minute treatment report heat and tingling sensation at the acupuncture points where the disks rest. This is followed by pain relief, sense of relaxation and feeling of well being.

I personally experience warmth and a gentle buzz followed by relaxation – similar to the one when acupuncture needles activate the Chi flow in traditional treatment.

nano research

Combining High-Technology with ancient Acupuncture Knowledge

Utilizing North American based nanotechnology and rapidly growing manufacturing expertise in China, the tourmaline disks are fashioned on a molecular level where familiar materials can be refashioned for beneficial effects.

The manufacturing process accomplished its aim to capture the essence of what Acupuncture needles do in improving health and as a natural pain relief for acute or chronic pain.

The healing disks are designed to be used according to the time-honoured theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

The Acupuncture process itself is still not scientifically proven apart from the release of endorphins as the body’s natural pain relief which produces a sense of relaxation (which in turn helps the body repair itself).

Based on the results Acupuncture is now widely accepted as one of the alternative therapies for pain. According to the World Health Organization’s report, studies have shown that acupuncture is effective in alleviating pain, protecting the body against infection, and regulating various physiological functions.

Elbow Pain

When Bill came to see me he stated that he had suffered from elbow pain for many months. Before his retirement he had worked in a warehouse, where he had to move things around, most likely he had lifted something heavy while working, which caused the strain and pain.

“Hardly noticeable first, the elbow joint pain became later unbearable, particularly at night after I had worked in the garden or carried heavy bags of groceries. The joints felt burning and were slightly swollen.

Visits to the doctor brought no relief. I tried painkillers and anti-inflammatory medications, to no avail. I could not lift grocery bags or my knapsack with such extreme pain.

After using the D.I.Y. Acupuncture stones in one treatment only, I had immediate relief. After eight treatments, the pain was totally gone.

I can lift heavy bags and objects with no problems. I recommend the holistic healing disks unequivocally. I continue to use them once a week to maintain a pain -free existence.”

Elbow Pain is often a result of an injury

Any kind of physical work where you have to lift or have repetitive movements of the arms such as moving things, plumbing, bricklaying etc. can cause strain with small tears in the tendons of the forearm.

This can happen in sports i.e. baseball, golf or tennis – that is why elbow pain is often referred to as a tennis elbow.

When the tendons are strained in a sudden movement you may experience a slight pain as it happens, and not using the elbow for a few days allows the self-healing energy of the body to take care of it.

If you suffer from an acute strain that causes minor elbow pain to apply ice pack on it immediately and use the joint as little as possible for a few days so that natural healing can take place.

Only after the tendons are totally healed should you start rebuilding the strength of the elbow.

However, if the condition is not treated, inflammation with calcium and mineral deposits can develop in the joints, which of course makes the pain worse. Neglecting to take care of the first signs can lead to serious problems.

Earlier injuries can later develop into osteoarthritis, a progressive disease which affects body joints. The cartilage breaks down and the loose bits of tissue cause inflammation, pain and poor function of the joint.

Ancient Acupuncture and Elbow Pain

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, any pain is a signal that Chi energy or/and blood are blocked, not moving in their natural way. Acupuncture helps increase and regulate movement within the energy and neural channels.

The results are often astounding, therefore Acupuncture has become a treatment of choice as alternative pain relief. The healing stones work on the ancient Acupuncture Principles.

In Bill’s case, Nano Acupuncture opened up the natural flow of energy and blood, flushing out the debris that had collected around and between the bones. This way the underlying problem was cleared, and the elbow pain was permanently erased.

Sciatica Pain Relief

Chinese Medicine provides an effective Sciatica Pain Relief

We experience painful sciatica pain when the sciatic nerve becomes irritated or inflamed.

Usually affecting only one side of the body, sciatica back pain  radiates to the hips and down along the back or side of a leg, in severe cases all the way to the ankle even toes.

This kind of back and leg pain can be burning and sharp, but it can also be dull, making some areas feel numb, and there could be difficulty in controlling movement.

Sciatica symptoms can be constant or occasional, and is often affected by damp and cold weather.

Acupuncture for Sciatica Pain

Not as analytical as Western Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) aims to penetrate into the cause of pain as well as the person’s environment in order to understand and treat any pain or disease.

We ask, Is this Internal or External condition, is it Hot or Cold, Excess or Deficiency, and finally how do the symptoms relate to the overall Yin/Yang state of the person, since the ultimate goal is to establish complete balance for the whole being?

By visiting a well-trained Chinese Medicine doctor in your area you could learn about your body’s strengths and weaknesses. By asking questions you would know which of the patterns of disharmony is predominant in your particular situation and could receive further suggestions for your sciatica pain.

Patients who present lumbago or sciatica symptoms in a TCM clinic are usually diagnosed as suffering from a type or a combination of the following Bi syndromes:

Wandering Bi, which relates to wind Painful Bi, which relates to cold Fixed Bi, which relates to dampness Febrile Bi, which relates to heat and feverish conditions

All of them involve blocking or slowing down the Chi or/and blood flow, often in the lower half of the body. Weakness and/or a serious injury to the back are often important factors underlying a sciatica pain. Since ancient times Bi syndromes have been considered to be the influences of cold, damp, and wind. Because this kind of lower back pain’s tendency is to radiate down the leg, the condition is frequently attributed to a combination of cold and damp, which are Yin factors with a natural downward course.

Wind, as an external pathogenic factor, contributes to the wandering nature of the pain, particularly if the surface Chi or vital energy of the body is weak. Kidney ‘domain’, which includes all urinary and sexual functions as well as the bone marrow and the brain, is the foundation of life according to TCM. These functions can become weakened, and what is first Kidney Chi deficiency can develop into Kidney Yang deficiency seriously upsetting the Yin/Yang balance of the whole body. This happens usually by a loss of sperm through excessive sex (in men) or other factors and advancing age in both genders. The body may not be able to ward off the cold and damp affecting the lower body, therefore creating a Yin excessive condition, which for the lack of movement ‘stagnates’. In this case, the external wind may not be the main factor, but with cold and damp can exacerbate it and make it appear as if the symptoms wander.

Do It Yourself Needle-less Nano Acupuncture as a Sciatica Pain Relief

Finding relief is our number one priority when experiencing any kind of pain whether it is acute, chronic or episodic. And today many people search for alternatives to prescription drugs for sciatica pain relief. Acupuncture is a growing trend. As a part of TCM practice, the art of acupuncture involves unblocking Chi, the body’s Vital Energy Force that flows through channels continuously. If Chi is blocked or weak, physical or mental illness develops. The purpose of acupuncture is to restore a healthy flow of Chi throughout the body in order to have perfect balance and harmony in all its functions. In the case of sciatica symptoms, when the channels are opened they have their natural warmth, the dampness is overcome and the whole body strengthened to withstand wind, cold and damp.

A new Nano Acupuncture is a non-invasive, gentle therapy for the clinic or home use. This acute and chronic pain relief system utilizes Tourmaline stone treated with nanotechnology and was developed, tested and is already used in many hospitals in China. These remarkable stones are designed to replace needles in acupuncture. When used according to the accompanying instructions the Holistic Healing Disks:

What Is Stress?

From the dictionary: Stressed out – debilitated because of stress. The Condition or adverse circumstances likely to disturb the normal physiological or psychological functioning of an individual – distress caused by this.

Root: middle English >distress, old French >estress–narrowness, Latin >scrictus-strict.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Perspective on Stress.

Chi or Vital Energy flow is restricted.

Most physical-emotional-spiritual disorders manifest first as chi malfunction. Harmonious flow of energy, necessary for the nourishment and maintenance of tissues, organs and glands, is restricted.

Disorders of vital energy may later progress to affect blood, tissues and organs – through this our emotions and our spirit. This can then lead to physical illnesses such as cancer, which in Chinese Medicine is viewed as a blood stagnation.

Undisturbed chi flows naturally within the body, including the brain, considered to be the office, which directs the essential operations and energies. These, in turn, are governed by the heart.

Cosmic Path

Microcosmic Orbit

On a clear night, we can see the cosmic path of the faraway moon and know that all waters on earth are affected by its powerful energies. This must also apply to our bodies for they are mainly water.

Are we aware of this connection, aware that each of us has microcosmic orbits as a reflection of the great cosmic paths through which WuChi or universal energy moves?

Do we accept expressions such as ‘as above, so below’ to be true without making a practical effort to understand what they mean?

And how could this greater understanding help us as human beings? Could we make our cosmic knowledge into a life experience and therefore gain from it?

Yes, we can.

A legacy of Wisdom for Chi Energy Transformation

'Thirty spokes share the wheel’s hub; It is the center hole that makes it useful. Shape clay into a vessel; It is the space within that makes it useful. Cut doors and windows for a room; It is the holes which make it useful. Therefore profit comes from what is there; Usefulness from what is not there.'

– Poem 11 – Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, translated by Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English.

Ancient Chinese sages left a legacy of wisdom for Chi Energy Transformation for those of us who are committed to spiritual healing and growth. Writings on Enlightenment of Consciousness such as ‘Secret of the Golden Flower’ were passed on to us often in an obscure or secret language.

In my many decades’ quest to understand these books of consciousness and life, I have found that to siphon their meaning is only possible through practice that brings an experiential-intuitive understanding of them.

But what amazing revelations are in store for those who stay with their commitment and practice!

In the early nineties, I had an opportunity to study with Master Mantak Chia, who brought many of the Chinese esoteric practices into a western format.

My on-going commitment is to give you, in as a practical format as possible, what I learned about the expansion of consciousness during my long quest and the practices it entailed.

Everything you read on the HappySoulHealthyBody pages is given in the spirit of Loving Tao, which to me means trusting the process while each of us takes responsibility individually for the journey.

How to Purify and Channel Chi along the MicroCosmic Path?

Chi Energy Meditation, Inner Smile (on our Meditation Guide page) and Micro Cosmic Orbit you learn here, focus on purifying and channelling Chi. Since they centre within the body, they are – like other Chinese meditation exercises – grounded and grounding.

Therefore they are safe to practice when done according to the instructions. My recommendation to you is to learn the Chi Energy Meditation and Inner Smile first and use the awareness gained from their practices as a foundation for your further cosmic education.

The mid-line cosmic path within us runs through the centres (chakras), which are like wheels in motion – Chi energy moving in a spiral fashion, the way it flows on all levels of creation. Think of the pictures you have seen of DNA!

Each centre corresponds to nerves, organs and glands, and your concentration on the circulation of pure Light Chi through the points along the central cosmic path helps transform negative energy of your cellular memories to positive light energy of higher standard.

Circulation of Light

The main cosmic path for the Circulation of Light follows the Conception channel in the front and the Governing channel at the back, both running along the center of the body. You can purify, re-enforce and stimulate the Chi within this microcosmic path by concentrating on its flow through the fourteen centers. This then benefits your whole being.

Baihui or ‘Hundred Meetings’ is the highest point in the body and is used in ancient acupuncture to alleviate headache, dizziness, to clear the senses and mental disorders, to calm the spirit, to stabilize and strengthen the Yang energy.

In all meditation exercises, Baihui is a pivotal point in connecting to your higher self in order to consciously draw in all-embracing and all-loving universal cosmic energy. Concentration on this point inspires receptivity and thankfulness as you begin to experience the seamless oneness that permeates the universe.

From Baihui you consciously move its cleansing Chi to the mid-eyebrow point Yintang, sometimes called the Wisdom Eye. It is used for headache, dizziness, hypertension, insomnia, common cold, and one of its traditional functions is to calm the spirit.

Here you can connect with the balanced Yin/Yang energy and set the circulation of light along your cosmic path into orbit by moving along the Functional channel to the Throat centre, the Heart, Solar Plexus, the Naval, the Sexual centre.

From Perineum – Huiyin or Conception 1 (‘the million dollar point’) the energy moves upwards along the Governing channel. At the Sacral Pump, your mind and breath may have to give a conscious ‘push’ to the energy for it go upwards.

Chi then moves to Life gate or Mingmen. It corresponds to the Kidneys, is parallel to the navel in front. The next point at the back is T11 or Adrenal point opposite the Solar Plexus.

The back Heart point is parallel to the one in the front, circle the energy there, then move to the back Throat point and from there to Jade pillow or ‘Mouth of God’. Another name for this area is Cranial Pump, where you consciously move the energy through the cerebellum back to Baihui.

At Baihui, by being receptive and childlike you receive more of the universal undifferentiated Wu Chi, and you may already feel tingling sensations in the upper part of the brain as new neural pathways are being made. After diligent practice, they become more prominent and you may see and experience your ‘Golden Flower’ that opens up new cosmic knowledge bringing happiness and creativity.

Stay focused on Wu Chi, be thankful and sincere, and repeat the process again and again along with your cosmic path. Of course, if you are an Indigo child or otherwise aware of the Generative Force (Kundalini) already functioning, you may just become more aware of the flow and continuous expansion of your consciousness.

Energy in the Service of Good Intention

Remember that energy is one with intention, it moves the way you want it to move when you have a clear inner vision with focused attention. Eventually, this intention command is not needed and the focus shifts to your Chi breathing along with the microcosmic path.

The strong power may feel as if gushing through the cosmic path rather than stopping at any of the centres. As the alignment with Wu Chi and the circulation of light becomes clearer, the breath becomes wider, the Chi flows naturally dissolving all the blocks along its cosmic path bringing smile to every cell. And often, I do not focus on every centre as a moving spiral but trust or feel that this is happening anyway.

Devotional Attitude

When Wu Chi at Baihui is in focus, I hear the name Immanuel (to me meaning the Will of the Creator) and that triggers a sense of devotion, thankfulness and praise, which in turn expands my consciousness more and more. I stay at Baihui in a state of worship, feeling blissful. On an out-breath, I finally bring the blessings along the front channel down to Mother Earth and stay in her love and generosity – for she is one with the Great Cosmic Mother.

Of course, this work is not be done in a day, but if you are committed, your inner guidance is always available. And after each practice, you can consciously collect the evolving ‘pearl’ energy in a special cosmic space where your original generative force resides.

Complete each practice by placing your palms on the lower abdomen and let the pearl energy circulate in the place where your earth life started at the time of conception.

Daily Tao Sounds

Daily Tao Sounds

Daily Tao Sounds for health and healing have been used in China over 1500 years. They have been taught by Kung Fu and Chi Kung masters, and the magical cry ‘Yi’ of an early shaman healer still means doctor in Chinese language.

We all know that singing, humming or making pleasant sounds to a baby soothes and comforts the child as well as the one who makes the sounds. Agreeable, positive sounds release emotional pressure and are Natural Stress Relief for any age. For healing anxiety disorder and as a depression self help, Daily Tao Sounds recycle and transform negative energy into positive Chi, therefore into positive feelings.

Personal Experiences using Daily Tao Sounds

Sounding is an enjoyable practice for me and have been instrumental in strengthening my lungs (which were weak due to childhood illnesses) and overcoming persistent feelings of sadness and hastiness. Also, if I practice daily, the Tao sounds energize me for the day and help me sleep better at night.

I discovered in my Healing Tao workshops that many young people who admit having anger, hold fear or sadness on a deeper level. For them, recognizing these feelings as ‘stuck’, negative energy which transforms into positive Chi through daily Tao sounds practice, is more acceptable than seeing them as psychological problems.

Six Healing Sounds

The Six Healing Sounds you learn on this page are done following the nurturing cycle of Five Phases. Each organ system corresponds to an element, a season, color, taste and a transforming emotion. To learn more about Five Phases, please click on the graphic.

  • Lung/Large Intestine – Metal – Autumn – White – Pungent – Sadness to Joy, Courage – Sound is SSSSSSS.  (tongue behind teeth).

  • Kidney/Urinary Bladder – Water – Winter – Dark Blue – Salty – Fear to Peace, Gentleness – Sound is WOOOOOO. . . (lips as when blowing out a candle).

  • Liver/Gall Bladder – Wood – Green – Sour – Anger to Tolerance, Kindness. The Sound is SHHHHHH. (tongue near palate).

  • Heart/Small Intestine – Fire – Red – Bitter – Hate, Impatience to Love, Compassion. The Sound is HAAAAAA. . . (mouth wide open).

  • Spleen/Pancreas/Stomach – Earth – Harvest time – Yellow – Sweet or Bland – Worry to Fairness, Singing. the Sound is WHOOOOO. . . (from throat, guttural).

Pericardium/Triple Warmer – Fire – All Seasons. The Sound is HEEEEEE. P/TW correspond to the fire element, but the sound is usually done as the sixth since TW’s function is to balance, especially the temperature of the upper, middle and the lower burner of the body.

Preparation for the Practice

  • If you feel stiff or tense shake your body gently as you walk around.

Sit with a straight back in a quiet place. If you can not sit for some reason, find a comfortable position where you have both arms free to move. If you can not move, do the sounds only.

Making Six Healing Sounds with their movements opens the breath and gives you a sense of joyous freedom. To make them into Daily Tao Sounds, try doing them at the same time, at the same place – perhaps in the morning to catch the right tone and inner stillness for the day. Do each sound 6, 9 or 18 times (at least three times if in a hurry!).

Before beginning the sequence for each organ system, rest your open palms on your lap. Think of the special qualities you read above and your intention to transform all polluted energy into positive Chi each time you empty your lungs.

At he end of each sequence, direct your love to these amazing physical instruments that serve you, and thankfully accept the transformation of all negative to positive Chi. Repeat the daily Tao sounds as many times as your time allows.

The Practice

  • Lung/LI: Look up and breathe in as you raise the arms and turn the palms upwards. On SSSSSS. sound let your arms float slowly back to their original position. Breathe normally.

  • Kidney/UB: Breathe in as you bend your back and bring your hands to lock around your knees. Your neck straight to avoid unnecessary tension, push the abdominal muscles against the kidneys with a WOOOOO sound until the air in your lungs is spent. Breathing normally let the arms float back to rest on your lap.

  • Liver/GB: Breathe in as you make a large circle with your arms to lock the thumbs above your head and lean slightly to your left. On SHHHHHHH. sound let the arms float back along the circle back to your lap.

  • Heart/SI: Breathe in as you make a large circle with your arms to lock the thumbs above your head and lean slightly to your right. On HAAAAAA. . sound let the arms float back along the circle back to your lap.

  • Spleen/ST: Breathe in as you make a circle with your arms and bring your fingertips under the left ribcage (stomach area). Breathe out on WHOOOOOO. sound as you press as deep as feels comfortable to you. Breathe normally as you float your arms along the circle back to your lap.

  • PC/TW: Lean back in your chair keeping the neck straight but relaxed. Or lie on your back. Breathe in as you spread the arms and bring your hands above the head. On HEEEEEEE. sound glide your hands just above the body to rest on your lap.(This sound, done with movements at bedtime can help you to have a deep sleep).

Open Your Heart to the Virtues of great Love

Open your heart to the sounds while following the instructions, but do not worry about doing them ‘just right’. Remember that Daily Tao Sounds taught by Chi Kung masters or other Tao of Health practitioners may vary in the sounds’ form and movements, but their ‘Tai Chi Breathing’ is the same.

Emptying the lungs from stale air is always an important aspect of Tao of Health and a sense of balance it brings.

Most people in the world are not breathing right. Please click for Expanded Return to Brilliance Program.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

A short Introduction

While the use of Natural Healing Remedies grew primarily to help cure illnesses, healing herbs were, and still are, also used to maintain youthful vigour and smooth flow of Chi through our physical networks.

Ideally herbs are used for prevention. There is an old saying, ‘It’s better to dig a well before you run out of the water.’

However, the classification of Chinese Healing Herbs developed because of the need to cure illnesses with complex symptoms.

What makes these substances correct dis-harmonies or help revitalize the person who is using them?

Human beings and herbs have one thing in common – both are of nature, which encompasses the entire material universe and its phenomena.

The root of the word nature is Nasci< Latin – to be born. The cells of plants, animals and humans are in perpetual renewal, nothing ever dies, forms only change according to the movement of Chi with its myriad qualities.

Being born is an essential character in all things and beings, not isolated, not even a part but the integrated whole. Being in renewal is innate – of nature!

Natural healing remedies are of nature, not broken down into chemical components like drugs, but working in a roundabout way, holistically resonating with the same kind of Chi.

Marshall McLuhan said, “Matter does not matter!”

Since all Life is radiation and resonance, let us forget matter for a moment!

Vibrating, resonating life includes plant, animal and mineral kingdoms as well as human life, nature’s most complex expression.

Life’s very purpose is its process – to evolve naturally, to remain harmonious.

The mineral kingdom is a simple form of vibratory life fossilized into a certain frequency. In vegetation, the cells breathe in and out the changes in constant continuum and each cell re-creates itself naturally in the process of life and death.

This diversified continuum is directed by Wu Chi, the Primal Creative Energy, manifesting in all and everything. It is harmonizing and creating new combinations according to two of the basic laws in Creation. . .

Motion and Attraction of Similar Radiations. ‘Birds of the Feather Flock Together!’

The overall harmonious co-operative is Tao – the Way, a still point within everything while causing movement – like an axis in the centre of a wheel.

It seems that healing herbs with a particular quality and magnetism – a particular vibratory frequency, are drawn to a similar ‘milieu’. Through it,  the herbs’ qualities affect the channel and organ functions and through that the entire body.

Therapeutic potential of an herb depends on its taste and temperature as well as its ability to move within the channel network. The herb must also be able to lead or to harmonize and support actions of other herbs in a formula.

Variations in combinations create possibilities for different actions.

The practitioner works on the basis that natural healing remedies do not cure, but they assist and support nature in her ongoing process to harmonize and nurture life.

For a certain deficiency in the body, such as of blood (Anemia), the herbs can supply certain constituents so the body may improve its blood. This way an overall vital force is strengthened and harmonized.

Here is an example from my own experience. When I was studying Chinese Medicine in the eighties, the pressure to study day and night had built to such an extent that I was totally exhausted, began to have palpitations and chest pains.

After examining me, my teacher prescribed a common patent formula called “Gui Pi Wan’. Soon the pains were gone, and this medicine has come handy through the years whenever I am overworked and need an energy boost.

Also, ‘Let your food be medicine and medicine be your food’ is another old Chinese proverb.

A twentieth-century scholar Lin Yutang wrote: “The Chinese do not draw the distinction between food and medicine. What is good for the body is medicine and at the same time food.”

Daily meals are often flavoured and supplemented with the same herbs the herbalists use in their formulas.

The essential message of this short introduction to Chinese Healing Herbs is that the wonderful nature we all share within and without, is a subtle co-operative vibrating creatively, being born in an ongoing continuity and newness.

The connections are intricate yet each part fits into the greater whole. This working together seems to be the primary aim of nature when we view its uniqueness, its harmony and its beauty.

Animals search in nature for those plants that benefit their well-being.

Shouldn’t we as human beings, who have been bestowed with greater co-operative intelligence also accept, that it is wise to look for answers in nature, of which we are the most evolved and exultant expression?

Human Blood

Human Blood as a Radiating Force and Bridge to greater Consciousness

The meaning of Human Blood (Xue) in Chinese Medicine is different from its Western counterpart. The name Blood in Western medicine is generally understood by its precise parameters of chemistry and histology. On this page, we specifically mean blood according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

According to TCM, the Fundamental Substances within the human body are Jing, Chi, Shen, Blood and Body Fluids

Body fluids are derived from food and especially from drink. They warm and nourish the muscles and moisten the skin. Within the body, they lubricate the joints, tone the brain and moisten the orifices.

Human Blood, being instrumental in all-over metabolism of the body contains a large amount of fluids. And sweat, urine and saliva are all formed from body fluids.

While one of the five fundamental substances, and although important for instance in flushing out toxins, the fluids are considered as ‘less refined, less essential and less deep’ than Blood, Jing, Chi and Shen.

Blood, Jing, Chi and Shen

Human Blood, being the life-giving substance which circulates throughout the body, is also regarded as a radiating Force, yet with a definite sensitivity to the influence of varied qualities of Chi Energy. Blood depends on Chi even for its formation from air and food as well as for its ability to move and remain in the blood vessels.

Chi and blood are intimately related and most of the acupuncture channels reside along the blood vessels. Blood is receptive Yin in relation to Chi, which in general has active Yang characteristics.

Chi is considered to be the commander of Blood, while Blood is the mother of Chi. (As the mother of vital energy, is it not wisdom to nourish the Blood with best quality food, drink, good thoughts and actions as well as a natural, regular lifestyle?)

Since in relation to Chi, Blood is Yin, it then is receptive to the active Chi, particularly of the Heart Chi – Shen or Spirit. In the Organ Functions section, you’ll read that Heart, considered ‘the Sovereign Fire – the Emperor’, controls the Blood and blood vessels.

Jing Chi, the Primal Intelligence operating within every cell of the body and Shen, the Spirit are the powerful, radiating forces within the blood. With this, all divisions dissolve and the Blood is just one aspect of the unified functioning of the human being.

Does this not begin to clarify the mystery of human blood! Abd-ru-shin speaks of it “In the Light of Truth”: ‘Blood is meant to form the bridge for the activity of the spirit on earth’.

Blood as a Radiating Force and Bridge to Human Spirit Consciousness.

Accepting Blood Radiation as the Bridge to Human Spirit, it then can also be instrumental for expanding consciousness through the work on Jing, Chi and Shen.(Please read the Chi Guide page).

Realization of this is stupendous, almost overwhelming. Think, it can bridge the gap that has existed ever since the purely intellectual capacity claimed the primary directing role for humans, who therefore became seemingly separated from the laws of nature and spiritual dimensions of life.

And it is only a seeming separation – for the laws of cosmos operate unfailingly. We have recklessly used our inner and outer natural resources, and in spite of many clever advances made in science and technology, we now see dire consequences of this in nature and in individual lives. According to Tao and all other spiritual teachings, we reap what we sow!’

Bridging the Gap between the old and new Medicine.

Understanding what Blood in Chinese Medicine means, can help bring the old and new medicine to a new, integrated level, where each one can contribute with clarity and trust for the benefit of mankind.

Dr. Maurice Bucke (1839-1902) was a progressive psychiatrist and the author of ‘Cosmic Consciousness’, a classic study of higher consciousness. In his work as a psychiatrist, he initiated new approaches in treating the mentally ill. But imagine, had he known about the exalted role of Human Blood, he might have used a simple blood transfusion along with dietary changes as well as work on Jing, Chi and Shen with amazing results.

The useful discoveries made in the last century – radiology – ultra-sound – magnetic resonance imagery etc. speak even in their names about the Radiation Connection that is Fundamental to Life.

And the efforts and discoveries in quantum physics, for instance, quantum objects being perceived by scientists as light waves OR particles also point toward this connection.

However, it is impossible to observe quantum objects with scientific instruments, the same way as Chi cannot be proven by them. Chi exists on the level of a different concept of time and space. Similarly, acupuncture/herbal treatments and meditation can be proven only by their beneficial results. Chinese Medicine has been practised for thousands of years on that basis.

The acceptance of the unified field theory as ‘One Expanding Life directed by the ultimate Chi Guide’ is only a question of time. Our consciousness is taking its inevitable leap. This will make everything New!
